Membership Recruitment Acceptance Binding Agreement

The Membership Recruitment Acceptance Binding Agreement (MRABA) is a binding agreement that a potential new member signs when ranking chapters after Preference Round. At this stage, a potential new member typically has up to two chapters remaining on her schedule. By signing the MRABA, a potential new member commits to accepting a bid from any chapter she lists on the agreement. Subsequently, she has three options:

1. Decide to withdraw from Formal Recruitment:

a. This entails the potential new member not receiving a bid from any chapter.

2. Intentional Single Preference:

a. This occurs when a potential new member has two chapters remaining and intentionally lists only one.

b. A potential new member may receive a bid from the chapter they intentionally single-preference, or they may not.

3. Maximizing Options:

a. This involves a potential new member increasing their odds of receiving a bid by listing both chapters in preferred order.

b. This also signifies that a potential new member would be content to receive a bid from either her first or second choice chapter.
