2018 Recruitment Dates: 8/21 - 8/27
We're excited to announce there will be one day in between Bid Day and the first day of classes this year! This will help scheduling during Recruitment and allow extra time to get prepared for the first day of class . The Fall 2017 Panhellenic Recruitment will begin with an Opening Convocation for Potential New Members in the evening of Monday, August 20th. Recruitment will then continue until Bid Day on August 27th. Classes for UT's Fall semester will begin on August 29th.
How to Join
Panhellenic Formal Recruitment occurs the week before classes begin each fall semester. After registering online in the summer and working on your recommendation letters, you will have the opportunity to attend several events during formal recruitment at each chapter house. Throughout the week, by a process of mutual selection, both chapters and potential new members will narrow their choices. At UT Austin, a majority of women obtain membership through this process; however qualifying chapters may also have opportunities to join outside of this time period and throughout the year.
For more information regarding Registration, please click on the
"Register" tab under "Recruitment".
Registration for formal Recruitment will open on Monday May 18, 2017.
A woman is eligible to participate in recruitment and join a sorority if:
- She is a regularly matriculated student at UT Austin. Any student who is enrolled and has been granted full-time status may participate, however each UPC organization has specific eligibility requirements.
- She must not be an initiated member of any National Panhellenic Conference sorority.
A Note to PACE Students
Thank you for your patience as we have gathered the following information from our national partners. Students participating in the Pathway to Admission through Co-Enrollment, also known as PACE, will have access to all of the benefits and privileges of a full time student at UT Austin. Participating in extracurricular activities, such as joining a sorority and fraternity, is encouraged and will enhance your experience in college.
It is important to note that our sorority and fraternity partners each have individual membership requirements. Membership decisions are the sole responsibility of the organization. We would encourage you to consult with the national organizations should you have questions about eligibility requirements.
